WHEN: 

SUNDAY, April 10th, 2011:   “Mastering the Art of Close-Connection"

  • 12:30-1:00pm:  Registration, warm up, stretching
  • 1:00-2:00pm:   An essential introduction to close-connection partnering
  • 2:15-3:15pm:   Creating conversations through your body (ground breaking stuff!)
  • 3:30-4:30pm:   Working the floor (higher energy travel & movement)
  • 4:30-5:30pm:  Guided practice with one-one coaching from the instructors

SUNDAY, April 17th, 2011:   “New Steps and Styling from the American World of Swing”

  • 12:30-1:00pm:  Registration, warm up, stretching
  • 1:00-2:00pm:   "Swinging the Blues" (slow Rock & Roll technique and styling)
  • 2:15-3:15pm:  "An Introduction to Fusion Swing" (mid-tempo Rock & Roll)
  • 3:30-4:30pm:  "An Introduction to Up-Tempo Swing" (fast Rock & Roll)
  • 4:30-5:30pm:  Guided practice with one-one coaching from the instructors

 

WHERE:   

Devenport Community Center, 32 Clarence St, Devonport 

  • Located in downtown Devonport, just next to the New World Grocery Store 
  • Free parking available at the facility

            

TO PRE-REGISTER (3 option):

  • Click on the "Registration" tab on the left side of the page to pre-register, then click on the "Payment" tab to pay using Paypal or a credit card
  • Call Julie at 445-4123, and leave a message giving the names of everyone you are registering, their lead/follow status, and the workshop dates you want to attend.  Please plan to arrive at to Community Center at 12:30 -12:45 to sign in and pay (cash or check only)
  • Drop-in's welcome on a space available basis (cash or check only at the door)

     PACKAGES:

1.  Both weekends (includes all six classes, two guided practices & social):  $80 NZD  (save $40!!) 

2.  Sunday, April 10th Package: (includes all three "Close-connection" classes,  guided practice & social):  $45 NZD  (save $15!!) 

3.  Sunday, April 17th Package: (includes all three "Swing" classes,  guided practice & social):  $45 NZD  (save $15!!) 

     INDIVIDUAL CLASSES:

Individual classes are $20 NZD each.
