NZ Dance Workshops with Ari & Whitney

WHEN: 

SUNDAY, April 10th:   “Mastering the Art of Close Connection"

12:30-1:00pm:   Registration, warm up, stretching
1:00-2:00pm:   "An introduction to close-connection partnering" (blues-based)
• 2:15-3:15pm:   "Creating conversations through your body" (ground breaking stuff!)
• 3:30-4:30pm:   "Working the floor" (higher energy travel & movement)
• 4:30-5:30pm:     Guided practice with one-one coaching from the instructors
 

SUNDAY, April 17th:   “New Steps and Styling from the American World of Swing”

• 12:30-1:00pm:    Registration, warm up, stretching
• 1:00-2:00pm:     "Swinging the Blues" (slow swing)
• 2:15-3:15pm:     "An Introduction to Fusion Swing" (mid-tempo)
• 3:30-4:30pm:    "An Introduction to Up-Tempo Bal-Swing" (fast-swing)
• 4:30-5:30pm:     Guided practice with one-one coaching from the instructors

 

WHERE:   

Devonport Community House, 32 Clarence Street, Devonport

• Centrally located in downtown Devonport, just next to the New World Grocery Store
• Free parking available in the lot adjacent to the facility
• Doors open at 12:30

 

REGISTRATION & PAYMENT (2 options):

1)  By Paypal or credit card (preferred)   

• Click on the "Registration" tab in the menu on the left side of this page and follow the instructions to register.  Then, go to the "Payment" page to pay using 'Paypal' or a credit card. 

2)  By cash or check (at the door)   

• Call Julie at 445-4123, and for each person you are registering, leave their name, their lead/follow status, and the class(es) they are signing up for. Plan to arrive at the Devonport Community House between 12:30 - 12:45 to sign in and complete payment (cash or check only).

• Simply show up at the door at 12:30 -12:45.  Drop-in's are welcome.  If you can bring a partner to help guarantee gender balance in class, all the better!  If not, no worries.  Just come on down.  (cash or check only) 

COST:   

     PACKAGES:

1.  Both weekends (includes all six classes, two guided practices & beach party social):  $80 NZD ($40 savings!)

2.  Sunday, April 10th Package: (includes all three "Close-connection" classes,  guided practice & beach party social):  $45 NZD ($15 savings!)

3.  Sunday, April 17th Package: (includes all three "Swing" classes,  guided practice & beach party social):  $45 NZD ($15 savings!)  

     INDIVIDUAL CLASSES:

Individual classes are $20 NZD each on a space available basis.  

 

    PRIVATE LESSONS:

Private lessons can be scheduled with Ari or Whitney ahead of time or on site.  Cost is $75/hr
